iClick, an industry-leading supplier of custom USB drives and pens headquartered in Seattle, announced the formation of the Pen Cup Research Project, a new, ground-breaking initiative focused on the study and observation of pens and other writing instruments in their natural habitat, primarily the pen cup.
“The goal of the Pen Cup Research Project is to dive deep into the places where pens live and, in doing so, to gain a better understanding of their social behaviors and migratory patterns,” says Sean O’Connor, iClick’s marketing director and PCRP lead. “Our intention is to go where the pens are—primarily to the pen cup, but also desk drawers, brief cases, junk drawers and anywhere else pens congregate.”
The company is inviting its network of distributors and sales reps to gather field data from all across North America, primarily in the form of photographs. The goal is to establish a vast database of images of pens in their natural pen cup habitat for the purposes of more in depth study. The company will be using Facebook as an initial repository and all interested participants should visit the iClick Facebook page to see examples and contribute their own photos.
