In Memoriam: Joe M. Cook, Eagle Business Products

Joe M. Cook, founder of print and promotional products company Eagle Business Products of Louisiana, passed away in his home with his family at his side after a long battle with cancer on July 3, 2013. He was 71.

Joe was a member of the print and promotional products industry for more than 30 years. He worked with Western Publishing Company for 17 years, and represented both Brown & Bigelow and Forester Smith through the late ’80s. In 1991, Joe founded Eagle Business Products in downtown Louisiana, which he operated for 21 years.

Outside of work, Joe served on the PPAM board of directors for several years and was the RAC representative to PPAI. He was also a member and Deacon of the First Christian Church in Louisiana. A member of Elks Lodge 791, 37 year member of the Louisiana Rotary Club and had a perfect attendance record, member of the Louisiana Chamber of Commerce and Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce. He was a long time leader of Boy Scout Troop 156 in Louisiana. He was a volunteer/field staff for American Motorcyclist Association for 40 years.

Joe is also survived by one son, the Rev. Terry Cook and wife, Kathi of Louisiana; one daughter, Sherri Pellham and husband, Ted of Springfield; four grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one brother, Bob Cook and wife, Linda of Hannibal; and nieces and nephews. Eagle Business Products LLC now operates under the leadership of Joe’s son Terry.
