May Advertising Refines Name, Brand

Fort Worth, Texas-based May Advertising, a worldwide leader in screen printing, digital printing and custom sign manufacturing, announced its rebranding as May Group International. A new website and updated brand identity will accompany the name change.

According to Pat Meredith, the company’s new president and chief operating officer, the decision to rebrand was made in an effort to more accurately convey the company’s core competencies. “Our old name was not aligned with our true capabilities,” Meredith said. “We are in the business of helping clients promote their brands by manufacturing customized signs and visual branding solutions.”

Meredith affirmed that while the company’s name is changing, its core services and quality standards will remain unchanged. May Group will continue to provide stock products through its catalog sales division, as well as customized signage solutions through its business-to-business and business-to- consumer divisions. The company’s line of retail-quality promotional apparel will still be available, as well as their in-house design services.

“There are several divisions within the company, and each specializes in a different market segment,” said Meredith. “By adding ‘group’ to our name, we’re creating awareness of our integrated delivery ability while leveraging each of our divisional capabilities.”

Founded in 1946 by Richard R. May, May Group found early success manufacturing aluminum changeable pricing signs for local gas stations. The company soon expanded nationally, broadening its product line to serve a variety of markets. Today, May Group works with many of America’s largest brands to create some of the most innovative and effective signage on the market.

“The May name has long been synonymous with quality aluminum signs, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to our capabilities,” said Meredith. “We’re a total solutions provider for our clients – if they can dream it, we can produce it.” May Group develops most of its products in-house, working hand-in-hand with the client from initial design, to prototyping, fabrication and fulfillment.

Over its 66-year history, May Group has evolved to meet the needs of its clients and the changing marketplace. The company has become an industry leader in the development of new display technologies with its patented Artlite LED signs, which produce high-impact, illuminated displays to create 3-D and neon effects without the environmental drawbacks of neon. May Group also uses post- recycled consumer materials and recycles all scrap to ensure its products are environmentally friendly.

“May Group knows that a good company changes with the times, and that’s at the heart of this rebrand,” said Meredith. “We’re looking forward to another 66 years of providing innovative branding solutions to our clients.”
