Remember last year’s McDelivery Day, when McDonald’s went above and beyond in its quest to deliver freebies to customers? If you don’t, it was a day where customers received freebies a little more special than usual Happy Meal toys when they ordered via food delivery apps.
It was enough of a success that McDonald’s is giving it another go tomorrow, and they’re putting a fun spin on it to highlight the comfort of ordering food from home.

“With McDelivery, we’re meeting our customers on their terms, and providing more ways to get their McDonald’s favorites than ever before,” said Steve Easterbrook, president and CEO of McDonald’s Corporation, in a press release. “In fact, globally there are more than 10 McDelivery orders placed every second. With our third annual McDelivery celebration, we’re calling on our customers around the world to take a break and join us for a well-deserved night in.”
For this year’s event, dubbed “McDelivery Night In,” customers who order from participating McDonald’s locations through the Uber Eats app after 5 p.m. will receive a random item from the line, which includes:
- Socks
- Slippers
- Scrunchies
- A Blanket
- Playing Cards
- Earbuds
- Fleece Pants
- Fleece Shorts
- Joggers
- Sweatshirts
- Short-sleeved Hoodie
- “Sleep sack” (which is a hooded, short-sleeve, zip-up blanket)
That’s quite a spread, McDonald’s. Now, whether you actually get something from McDonald’s isn’t a guarantee. Plenty of people were upset last year when their delivery driver showed up “empty handed” (they still got their food, though).
This is also pretty above-and-beyond for the company that got all smarmy about fast food companies getting creative with their merchandise drops. But, I guess we can overlook that, since this is pretty awesome. Wouldn’t mind wearing some sesame seed slippers around the house/office, myself.
Expect a full recap of the line once the items are officially released.
