Minnesota City Recognizes Norwood and BIC Graphic for Donations

Two leading suppliers assisted a food bank close to one of their Midwest sites. The city expressed its gratitude last month, the companies announced today.

Red Wing Mayor Dan Bender presented Norwood and BIC Graphic’s Red Wing management team with a Citizenship Award Nov. 21 at the town’s “Evening of Thanks,” which honors those who give back to the community.

In the fall, the Red Wing, Minn. facility for Norwood and BIC Graphic, both based in Clearwater, Fla., collected 4,078 pounds of food and $2,344 that was donated to the Red Wing Area Food Shelf, which assisted in feeding more than 1,000 families on Thanksgiving. To celebrate the results of the food drive, Red Wing site manager Tim Dunford led employees and the BIC Boy mascot in the third annual Turkey Trot, which consists of multiple laps around the plant.

“BIC is generous, super, fantastic… I can’t think of big enough words to describe how helpful BIC has been to the Red Wing Food Shelf and the Red Wing community, ” said Dee Bender for the Red Wing Area Food Shelf. ” We can’t thank you enough for all the help BIC and its employees have provided. Please know that there will be at least a 1,000 families that will have food on their tables for Thanksgiving that each of you and all of the employees at BIC helped put there.”

The Red Wing facility donated 5,368 pounds and $2795 to the Red Wing Food Shelf throughout 2013.
