Navitor, North Mankato, Minn., recently announced Tony Smith as the new plant manager for the company’s specialty products division. Smith’s leadership will be central to Navitor’s production of an expanded specialty products offering, to which the company has recently added repositionable fabric decals, custom phone cases and badge talkers.
Smith has worked for various Taylor Corporation companies for more than 16 years and has held various leadership positions during that time. Most recently, he was the process improvement analyst at Navitor. His focus as plant manager will include maintaining quality and safety in the plant.
According to David Birkemeier, vice president of operations, Smith has already been working toward these goals. “Tony has filled the role on an interim basis since October with excellent results,” Birkemeier said. “His ability to drive positive change, develop relationships and solve problems directly supports our strategic objective of ‘Top Quality, On Time’. I am excited about the role he will play in our production operation going forward.”
