Selco, a Tulsa, Oklahoma-based watch supplier and dial manufacturer, recently launched its new dial polishing machine into service. The new machine will give Selco flexibility in polishing plus increased dial production. The new machine’s finish is different from the traditional method of polishing so Selco will have a larger variety of finishing choices to enhance each individual dial design. The machine is partially automated so dials can be polished on the new equipment while the operators produce other orders using the previously established polishing techniques.
“We are excited to be able to bring this new machine online this month,” said CEO Mark Abels. “This is a very busy time of year for us, so to have this flexibility helps keep production moving on time. We are thrilled to be able to offer more variety in our dial finishes, thanks to our new machine. It will really help us solve some polishing issues we have had with very fine detail. In the past, it took a lot of extra time to polish dials with very fine detail, but our new polishing machine handles that challenge very consistently and with incredible sharpness.”
This is the third major capital purchase Selco has made in 2013. “We are proud to be in a position to add to our capabilities with the new polishing equipment, along with adding new digital printing capability and installing a more energy efficient air chiller,” said Abels.
