Effective June 01, 2012, Kanata Blanket Company announced the purchase of the company by a group of investors based in Vancouver, B.C., Canada.
No changes in management or operating direction are planned as part of the sale, apart from Fraser Mackay, one of the new owners, who will assume the role of president. Mackay will replace Steve Frishling, the owner of Kanata Blanket Company for the last 15 years.
Kanata Blanket Company has been a recognized leader in premium blankets, décor and lifestyle products in the promotional industry in North America since 1993. “Their exceptional reputation within the promotional industry for quality products was one of the major factors in our decision to purchase Kanata,” Mackay said.
Sharon Griffith, vice president of sales and marketing and a minority shareholder, will continue to be the driving force behind Kanata Blanket Company’s sales team. All other staff and operations will remain 100 percent intact.
Mackay has considerable management experience in finance, marketing, transportation and supply chain Mmnagement. He has had a balanced career with considerable operations and business development experience and is an innovative, results-driven leader focused on customer satisfaction.
Steve Frishling’s decision to sell was based on his personal time frame, allowing him to spend more time with his family. However he did it with the knowledge that Kanata Blanket Company would continue to grow and operate very successfully under the new ownership, supported by the loyalty and passion of the existing sales team and operational staff.
