Newton Manufacturing Publishes QR Code “How to” White Paper

With QR code usage continuing to grow, Newton Manufacturing Company, Newton, Iowa, has published a free white paper about the technology. “How to Sell QR Codes” is a guide for industry distributors, agencies and suppliers for implementing QR codes in promotions.

“QR codes are still in early adoption phase in the U.S.,” explained Jay Donlin, Newton Manufacturing Company’s executive vice president of sales and marketing. “Now is an excellent opportunity for those in the promotional marketing field to educate themselves on the technology to take advantage of its predicted growth.”

QR codes, which look like a mosaic of black and white pixels, are becoming increasingly popular as smartphone usage in the United States continues to grow. When scanned by a smartphone with the appropriate app, the code delivers the advertiser’s content, typically a mobile website, to the device.

The white paper discusses how the codes are created and are being used by advertisers. It then walks the reader through the process of creating a campaign using QR codes and offers ideas for imprinting the codes on promotional products.

“QR codes have been very effective in print and are a natural fit for promotional products,” said David Schaaf, communications coordinator at Newton Manufacturing Company and author of the white paper. “They are a great way for marketers to add value to their promotion ideas.”

The white paper is available for download here. For more information, visit www.newtonmfg.com.
