Newton Manufacturing Company, Newton, Iowa, took home two NOVA Awards from the Iowa chapter of the American Marketing Association. The company received Best of Category in Special Event and second place in Nonprofit Marketing.
“To be recognized among the best marketers in Iowa, and arguably the country, is truly an honor,” said Dan Livengood, senior sales manager of Newton Manufacturing Company. “We are very proud of our work and grateful to our representatives and clients who entrust us with their marketing and allow us do what we love.”
The NOVA’s Special Event category recognizes use of special events in meeting marketing goals. Newton Manufacturing’s winning entry was an event-centered marketing campaign for a representative that included a kitchen-themed booth and supporting collateral for before, during and after the show. The campaign was overwhelmingly successful, resulting in impressive sales numbers.
The Nonprofit Marketing NOVA recognizes exemplary marketing programs intended to change behavior, grow membership, increase awareness, raise funds and generate support. The company’s second place entry was a marketing campaign for the Iowa Egg Council for their Iowa State Fair activities. The campaign doubled the number of eggs on a stick given away.
Livengood, along with Phil Peden, creative resource designer; and David Schaaf, marketing communications coordinator, contributed to both projects and accepted the awards on the company’s behalf during the NOVA Awards program on May 2, 2013, at The Meadows Events Center in Altoona, Iowa.
