When rapper Post Malone announced a new collaboration last week, we naturally assumed it would be music-related. To our surprise, the famous artist, popular for songs like “Rockstar,” “Congratulations,” “Better Now” and others, partnered with Crocs to create the Post Malone x Crocs Dimitri Clog, complete with a variety of charms. If you’re a long-time supporter of the rapper or the shoe brand, though, it’s already a bit too late to grab your pair of Posty Crocs. The collaboration sold out within minutes, so fans had better set alerts if they want a shot at the next release.

Post Malone has received a lot of press about some of his life choices, including his most recent face tattoo that says “Always Tired” under his eyes. This collaboration is no different. Fans had a lot to say about his shoe of choice, and many were left upset that they sold out quicker than expected.
One Twitter user commented, “They sold out in 8 minutes. Didn’t even have a drop notification either. Not happy.”

Another fan posted a screenshot of the eBay resale prices of the Crocs, which were priced between $476 and $500. Not quite on Balenciaga’s level, but close enough.

The collaboration included the limited-edition pair of Crocs along with six Jibbitz charms. If you’re new to the world of Crocs, Jibbitz are the accessories you can add on to the shoe. The charms consisted of “Stay Away” (his face tattoo), a Posty Co. logo and four other designs. So, if fans were looking for a less permanent replica of Malone’s tattoo, this was it.
Crocs has had a few, shall we say, interesting collaborations this year, specifically the Balenciaga x Crocs collab that was available on preorder this past February. Highsnobiety even went as far as deeming them the “Meme-Worthy Balenciaga Platform Crocs,” and they definitely lived up to the name. Not to mention, the clogs had a shocking $850 price tag.
Business Insider reported that, according to Piper Jaffray’s biannual survey, Crocs have become a sensation with teens. The survey noted that Crocs were the 13th most popular footwear brand among teenagers, up from 27th a year ago. That’s a large jump, and evidence that Crocs’ partnerships with popular brands and artists, like Post Malone, are paying off.
“If you like something, go get it,” the rapper said in a press release promoting the shoes. “I wear Crocs everywhere from the bar to the stage, and I felt it was the perfect collaboration to get together with Crocs and give the fans what they’ve been asking for.”

While the first launch sold out immediately, there’s already talk of a second collaboration coming soon. If fans are in the market for a pair of Post Malone Crocs, they’ll have to keep their eyes peeled and their Google alerts at the ready. With all the hype, this collection could be here and gone before they know it.
