SAAGNY Elects New Board of Directors, Executive Committee

The Specialty Advertising Association of Greater New York (SAAGNY) recently announced the election of three industry veterans to serve on its board of directors. The board also elected five directors to serve as officers in 2014. All terms begin on Jan. 1, 2014.

George Gorniok, MAS, of supplier Notes Inc. was re-elected to a new term. Gorniok has served on the board of directors since January 2010 and has been serving as SAAGNY’s vice president/president elect for the past year. He will continue his service to SAAGNY as president beginning Jan. 1, 2014.

Eric Rackoff, Northeast account manager for distributor Staples Promotional Products, was also re-elected to a new four-year term. Having been appointed in 2009 to fill an unexpired term, Rackoff currently serves as the association secretary/treasurer and will serve as vice president/president elect in 2014.

Paul Sprunk, president of multiline rep firm Paul W. Sprunk Associates, joins the SAAGNY board after many years of active participation with SAAGNY, the SAAGNY Foundation and other industry groups. Sprunk is a former trustee of the SAAGNY Foundation and has chaired the Foundation’s annual Lenore Goldberg Memorial Golf Outing for the past four years.

“These three men represent the best our membership has to offer,” said SAAGNY president Michael Leone. “Each brings a wealth of experience, unbridled enthusiasm and unique perspectives on the issues impacting the industry, our association and other associations. We welcome them to the board and look forward to their contributions.”

Rounding out the executive committee will be Rhonda Blum, CAS, of Motivators Inc., as secretary/treasurer; John R.B. Cudahy of Hit Promotional Products, as officer at large; and Michael Leone, also of Hit Promotional Products, as immediate past president.

Blum has served on the board since August 2009 and on the executive committee since September 2012. Cudahy first joined the board in January 2012, and this will be his first service as an officer on the executive committee. Leone has been a director since January 2009 and an officer since January 2011, and served as president for the 2013 term.
