Employees of SanMar, a leading industry supplier of apparel and accessories, raised over $96,000 in money, clothing and goods for seven charities. SanMarathon events, hosted at each of the company’s seven distribution centers around the country and corporate office, allowed employees to run, walk or cheer their way to the final donation.
“One of our SanMar values is to ‘Make a Difference,'” said Olivia Thurmond, senior HR manager at SanMar. “It was inspiring to see our employees throughout the country gear up and get ready for these fundraising events. Whether it was a 5k run in the park near Seattle, a chilly couple of laps around and inside our Minnesota warehouse, or a fun morning with family near Cincinnati, our employees showed that they were determined to give back and truly make a difference.”
Employees were integral in the fundraising through local run, walk and cheer events. Additional contributions were also matched by the company, in the form of much-needed clothing items and other durable goods for organizations who work closely with children and families in need.
