Showdown Displays, Minneapolis, announced that it has received two awards from Minnesota Business Magazine. Each year, the magazine holds an event to recognize people and companies that make strides in Minnesota’s manufacturing industry. Showdown Displays was awarded in two categories: Manufacturer of the Year and Executive of the Year.
The Manufacturer of the Year award recognizes one Minnesota company for achieving the highest degree of manufacturing excellence. Each year, Showdown Displays introduces an average of 50 new products to the market, many of which are internally designed by the company’s employee-driven program, known as “Operation Innovation.” To ensure these and other products meet quality standards, Showdown Displays’ quality team inspects inbound shipments. The company has received numerous other awards and top honors for service and growth, including being named to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies every year since 2007. To attain this growth, the company is constantly improving its processes, including achieving IDEAlliance G7 Master Qualification in 2011. Last year, Showdown Displays was named Minnesota’s Mid-size Manufacturer of the Year.
“This award is a remarkable milestone on our journey, and is nothing short of magical,” said Kevin Walsh, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Showdown Displays.
The Executive of the Year award was presented to Showdown Displays’ president and CEO, John Bruellman. “I can’t tell you how personally humbling and rewarding it is to receive this award,” he said. “I am very appreciative of Minnesota Business [Magazine], the selection committee and my fellow finalists. But most of all, I am pleased for our employees. This recognition is truly theirs. We have an amazing team and I am inspired every day by their dedication.” Bruellman has been growing the company financially since he became president in 2006. He was named CEO in 2011.
