“This is an extraordinarily meaningful moment, both for me and for SRG as an organization,” said Balen. “Building a supply chain our partners can genuinely rely upon is something I care about deeply. I look forward to raising the standard of excellence across every dimension of our global operations.”

Balen joined SRG in 2005 and was most recently the vice president of supply chain management. Before SRG, he was a business development manager at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in Toronto.

Richard Firkser, president and founder of SRG, called Balen “an integral part of SRG’s growth and operational success,” while CEO Mark Waisbrod added: “His deep command of global trade, logistics and supply chain management, combined with his strategic thinking and proven leadership, makes him precisely the right person to lead this expanded division.”

Earlier this year, SRG rebranded its custom overseas sourcing division from Promobilia to SRG Global, reflecting an expanded focus on sourcing and supply chain.

Based on 2024 North American promotional product revenue of $70.8 million, SRG ranked 25th on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest suppliers in the industry. The new list is due out in July.
