S&S Activewear, Bolingbrook, Ill., leased an additional 187,000 square feet for expansion of its Robbinsville, N.J. location. Upon its completion by the end of February, the facility will total more than 480,000 square feet. The expansion is slated for operation within the next few weeks.
“S&S now operates 1.7 million square feet across the country,” said Jim Shannon, president of S&S Activewear. “The expansion in New Jersey is a critical step towards growing S&S’s presence on the East Coast.”
The expanded facility will allow S&S Activewear to boost its product offering and inventory depth, while increasing shipping reach up and down the Eastern seaboard. S&S Activwear hopes the growth on the East Coast will allow the company to continue adding jobs, estimating several hundred new positions over the next few years. According to Shannon, the Robbinsville expansion marks an important benchmark on the path of continued national growth.
“We expect to continue this same growth strategy to other parts of the country within the coming years,” Shannon said.
Robbinsville’s inventory numbers are available on the company website, alongside inventory from S&S’s three other locations. Using their existing account, customers can access inventory from any S&S distribution center.
