Storm Creek, a supplier of eco-friendly, outdoor-inspired apparel and outerwear based in Eagan, Minnesota, recently announced the results of its 2021 philanthropic and environmental initiatives, and key business awards and achievements.
- Charity: Storm Creek contributed $190,000 in monetary and in-kind donations to national and local charities in 2021. The company works with five preferred national charity partners and numerous local charities to support the fight against cancer, feed the hungry, provide warm clothes for homeless adults, and more. Storm Creek also has been a Minnesota Keystone program member at the 5% giving level since 2019.
“We are ‘Seekers of Better,’ firmly committed to and constantly pursuing ways to be better and do better in every aspect of our operations,” said Storm Creek CEO Teresa Fudenberg. “As part of this, we set an aggressive long-term business goal of reaching a total of $5 million in charitable donations by 2030
- Environment/Sustainability: Storm Creek successfully completed a five-year process of converting its full product line to eco-friendly, using recycled and/or sustainable components, for its 2022 catalog — an effort that has so far saved over 9 million plastic bottles from ending up in landfills or oceans. In addition, the company achieved more than 36.4 million metric tons of carbon emission offsets last year through its Cloverly partnership, and it has been a 1% for the Planet partner since 2019.
“As an outdoor products company, we are proud of our efforts to project and support the environment through product innovations and conscientious operational practices, which we also constantly seek to improve,” Fudenberg said.
- Business Recognition: Last year, Storm Creek was certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise through the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council. The company was also recognized with two business awards: Dakota County Regional Chamber 2021 Small Business of the Year, and Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board 2021 Bob Killeen Award recipient for its quality and innovation practices.
“I am so proud of our team for the many spectacular business accomplishments we achieved last year,” said Fudenberg. “We are a small but mighty company with ambitious goals for 2022 and beyond.”
