Taylor Swift fans are a devoted bunch. Even the slightest criticism on social media is enough to draw the ire from the “Swifties.”
So, you can imagine how they felt when the merchandise they got at Swift’s career-spanning “Eras” tour couldn’t hold up to a simple wash.
According to Distractify, fans who got items like T-shirts or hoodies noticed “major changes” in the pieces after a trip through the laundry, noticing significant fading even after washing inside out on a cold cycle, leaving Swift’s face on the shirt distorted and, frankly, sort of scary.
“It’s bad y’all,” one customer wrote on TikTok. “I do feel like this is something that Taylor Nation or somebody from Taylor’s team needs to address.”
Other fans noticed that, even before they got a chance to wash the shirts, there were stains presumably left on the shirt at the mercy table. And, with the whole laundry fiasco, the fans are ultimately left with either a stained shirt or a faded shirt.
“The fact that this is happening And that the merch fades so quickly pisses me off,” one fan wrote on social media.
To Team Swift’s credit, some fans said that after emailing the Universal Music Group store dedicated to Swift merchandise, they received a new T-shirt, but still felt afraid to wash it.
This happened before with Ariana Grande, where fans were disappointed by T-shirts with poor decorations, with all of the colors printed strangely.

Grande, to her credit at the time, responded on Twitter, saying “I can’t believe they sent it out. I’m on it.”
Taylor hasn’t come out saying anything about the “Eras” tour merchandise’s quality, but if she does, it might be enough to satiate her fanbase at least a little bit.
But still, a tour of this caliber for a star of Swift’s status should really have better quality apparel, right?
