Taco Bell’s Holiday Branded Merch Collection Shows How You Target the Instagram Crowd

Years ago, when Taco Bell unveiled the Doritos Locos Taco, we truly didn’t think the fast food chain could ever top it. Then, the company started selling branded merch, and we just about lost our heads. It turns out the taco king knows a thing or two about promotional merchandise, and its latest holiday collection proves just that, while offering a template for targeting younger demographics. This collection is trendy as heck.

First up on the list is an obvious choice: the ugly sweater. While ugly sweaters are a safe bet for holiday promotions, it’s critical that the branding is done well. Taco Bell’s designs are classic, and they do a great job of highlighting the company’s branding and messaging. There’s even one with taco stripes—talk about innovation.

The next item is one we never could have imagined, and now that we’ve seen it, we want one for every day of the week. Taco Bell created hot sauce-inspired onesies, and we have to say: They are fire. (We couldn’t help ourselves.)

Also in the collection are hot sauce-printed mugs, fire sauce packet holly socks, greeting cards and hot sauce pillows—all of which spruce up any holiday decor.

Several of the creations have already sold out, and we can see why. The collection is fun, all the pieces are one-of-a-kind, and honestly, they’re all perfect for Instagram.

For promotional apparel suppliers and distributors, there’s some promo inspiration to be had here. Clearly, ugly sweaters continue to be a great option for holiday apparel, but there’s another trend you shouldn’t sleep on: the onesie. Millennial end-users are loving these cozy options for their loungewear, and they’re a great way to get head-to-toe exposure for your client.
