Teespring is getting further in on the e-commerce game through the launch of its Branded Stores, which allow users to create personalized web stores to sell merchandise online. The storefronts can be customized to users’ liking, from product assortment to layout to URL, and even offer customized packaging.
As part of the launch, Teespring will also make its new Instagram Checkout feature, previously offered to only a select few brands, available to anyone operating a Teespring Branded Store. This gives “top Teespring creators” the opportunity to sell merch from their stores directly through Instagram.
The move significantly expands Teespring’s capabilities. Before, users could design and create merchandise, and purchase it for distribution or sale through their own channels or make it available via the main Teespring site. The online store option streamlines the process and adds more bells and whistles for creators, making Teespring an even more attractive choice for merch buyers and resellers.
“Breaking down the barriers between content and commerce has allowed us to build deep integrations with great partners,” Teespring CEO Chris Lamontagne told Mobile Marketing. “Branded stores with Instagram integration has huge promise to create unique commerce moments for the world’s top creators.”

Instagram and YouTube personalities are reaching levels of success never seen before, and the way the internet has made fame reachable without having to go through gatekeepers means that more and more people are finding an audience. Capitalizing on that success through branded merchandise is a natural progression.
Teespring has made aggressive moves to position itself as the go-to merch provider for online content creators on multiple platforms. It now has its fingerprints all over the social-media-turned-merchandiser space, with its Instagram integration, YouTube Merch Shelf and Twitch merch extension giving it direct access to a significant share of content-creator merchandise market.
