Thinc Actionwear Open House Donates Over $1,000 to Food Bank

Customers of Thinc Actionwear, located in Portland, Ore., sampled the latest trends—and helped feed the hungry—at the Thinc Actionwear Open House on April 20 at the company’s headquarters. The promotional apparel company invited customers from across the nation for a look at its 2012 collection.

The price of admission? A donation to the Oregon Food Bank.

With half coming from the invited guests and half from a matching donation from Thinc Actionwear, the event raised a total of $1,632 and 830 pounds of food for the Oregon Food Bank.

“We want to thank everyone that came,” said Karen McCall, a part of the second-generation family ownership team. “It was wonderful to see everyone and better still to break our record donation for Oregon families in need.”

The open house is a chance to debut the new line of apparel, caps and bags. It also gives vendors and customers a chance to meet each other face-to-face.

This year’s attendees each received a Bella+Canvas Beach Bag filled with product samples. Lucky winners were chosen to receive a Blu-ray player, a Kindle e-reader, a television and an iPad.

The beer was provided by Portland’s own Alameda Brewing Company. The food, included grilled salmon and imported cheeses, was provided by Gina’s Catering.
