Every year, Promo Marketing releases its Top 50 Distributors list. To give you some insight into what it takes to make it to the top, we spoke to Terry McGuire, senior vice president of marketing for HALO Branded Solutions, No. 4 on the list.
Promo Marketing: What led to your company’s success in 2016?
Terry McGuire: Strong organic growth combined with several high performing industry account executives joining HALO throughout the year.
PM: What goals do you have for your business for 2017 and beyond?
TM: Continue to grow by offering the most comprehensive service and sales support to industry selling professionals.
PM: Besides sales numbers, what makes HALO Branded Solutions a Top Distributor?
TM: Our culture. We have a hard-working and passionate staff and some of the most creative and dynamic account executives in this—or any other—industry.
PM: What was the craziest, weirdest or coolest thing you’ve seen on your journey to becoming a Top Distributor?
TM: The coolest thing this past year was the community support for the groundbreaking of our new operational headquarters. For a larger industry company, we operate in a relatively small town that is very supportive of our success.
PM: What’s the one thing you know now you wish you’d have known when you started in the promo industry?
TM: How long I’d be here (31 years). Like many people, this industry has been very good to me and the great people I’ve been associated with.
PM: What is the key to becoming (and remaining) a Top Distributor?
TM: Treat the people you do business with like you would want to be treated. It’s really that simple.
