Every year, Promo Marketing releases its Top 50 Distributors list. To give you some insight into what it takes to make it to the top, we spoke to Jo-an G. Lantz, MAS CIL, CEO of Geiger, No. 6 on our list.
Promo Marketing: What led to your company’s success in 2016?
Jo-an G. Lantz: Continued investment in people and technology led to our growth in 2016.
PM: What goals do you have for Geiger for 2017 and beyond?
JL: Our goal is to expand knowledge about our customers, and use that knowledge to support their needs and grow sales. In addition, we want to continue to innovate to attract customers on a global basis, and make it easier for them to do business with us.
PM: What’s one trait of your company that you think has made it such a success, and why do you think it’s had such an impact?
JL: The Geigers have always held true to core values of treating every person with respect. They have shared the profits with employees since 1955, and have been transparent with sales partners and employees. The level of trust is very high. We truly team together.
PM: Besides sales numbers, what makes your company a Top Distributor?
JL: Culture. Geiger is truly a great place to work.
PM: How can distributors stay relevant in the promotional products industry?
JL: Continuing to make investments in people and infrastructure. Be open to new ideas and different ways to do business.
PM: How was the industry evolved since you started? What do you think the future will entail?
JL: All of business has evolved over the past years, and our industry is part of that overall revolution in speed, communication, flexibility, products, government regulation and work environment. We need to be able to reach out to buyers and clients in the channel they feel most comfortable.
