PC Mag’s Top Tech Predictions for 2015 (and What They Could Mean for Your Promo Sales)

Looking for inside info on the hottest promotional tech accessories for 2015? Look no further than PC Mag’s Top Tech Predictions. The magazine’s annual list offers a rundown of the electronics trends to watch for in the coming year, providing some valuable hints as to what accessories you’ll want to pitch for not-so-distant future promotions. Here are some of the key takeaways:

Small tablets, big phones. According to PC Mag, six-inch tablets (“phablets,” in industry lingo) aren’t going anywhere, and will likely continue growing in popularity at the expense of full-size Android and Apple models. Adjust your case-size expectations accordingly.

Durability and waterproofing. Before, it was up to the case to keep the fragile smartphone within protected from the elements. But now, more manufacturers are beefing up their frames and adding increased water protection. This might mean a shift away from larger, bulkier phone cases for slimmer models, as devices require less additional protection.

Laptops are back. Well, cheaper PC models anyway. PC Mag reports that budget laptops—major underperformers in past years—will improve dramatically in 2015. That could mean an uptick in need for laptop accessories if more people get back in the PC game.

Wearables. The Apple Watch cometh. If it’s anything like, well, everything else Apple has released in the last 15 years (OK, except for that U2 iPod) it’ll be a big seller. It’s uncertain what that means for accessories, but be prepared for anything.
