Editor’s Picks: We Made It in America

This Labor Day Weekend, Promo Marketing’s base city Philadelphia will be hosting the original Jazzy Jay, father of Blue Ivy and crazy in lover, Jay-Z. The rap sensation will be here for the Made in America Festival and will be bringing with him Pearl Jam, Skrillex and a rumored appearance from Bootylicious wife Beyonce. Day-long concerts are disconcerting for constant outfit changers (ahem, me). Plus, with so many performers, how do you pick which one to support? Other than UVA- and UVB-protecting sunscreen, what does a concert-goer wear? Considering the hoards of promotional apparel bound to be sold before, during and after the event, I thought it was a good time to guess what will be there.

Editor’s Note 1: The “Made In America” name seems more fitting for a fourth of July stint, but The Roots already own that holiday in Philly.

Editor’s Note 2: With all the concern over Olympic apparel being made abroad, do you think Budweiser (who is partnering with Jay-Z to host the event) and Jay-Z (who used to own Roca Wear) will make an effort to have promotional garb USA-made?

US-A-okay
The Fine Jersey Short Sleeve Crew Neck T-shirt Dress from American Apparel solves the “picking a performer” dilemma by instead boasting its USA pride. American bonus: it also comes in navy, white and red.

The Berry Best
Imprints Wholesale offers the Bella Made in The USA Made Women’s Tee in berry to add a new twist on American hues. Add the logo of your client’s band of choice and you’re good to go. Bella+Canvas tees have the added benefit of being no-C.O.E.

Rock (Head)Band
It is not cold enough yet for knit caps, but concert attendees can still show their cranium support with flashy headbands. The Heavyweight Knit Earband/Headband from Wisconsin Knitwear Inc. is USA-made and holds one or two lines of print. Here’s an embroidery idea: “99 problems, but a headband ain’t one.”
