Victorinox Swiss Army, Monroe, Conn., has appointed Andrew Spellman as vice president of corporate channels. Spellman, former vice president of sales, corporate and commercial markets for St. Louis-based TRG Group, joined Victorinox Swiss Army when it acquired TRG Group Aug. 1, 2014.
During that time, Victorinox Swiss Army finalized the operational structure of a new sales operations department to be led by Mike Smith, former vice president of sales, corporate markets. Smith has been appointed as vice president of sales operations. Smith and Spellman will work collaboratively through the end of the year to transition to Spellman leadership responsibility for the corporate markets division.
Along with Spellman’s updated title, he assumes the responsibility of updating the newly expanded team’s approach to selling and marketing all Victorinox, Victorinox Swiss Army, Wenger and Swiss Gear products in a coordinated manner. Over the next six months, Victorinox Swiss Army will unveil a newly organized sales, marketing and support team, which will focus on customized marketing solutions, smart distributor tools, improved customer support and quick turnaround for all requests.
“I am extremely excited for the opportunity to merge our efforts,” Spellman said. “Having one place to go for all of our Victorinox, Victorinox Swiss Army, Wenger and Swiss Gear branded products will bring clarity and convenience to our distributor partners, and that is our goal.”
“This is an exciting time for our company,” added Kipp Acton, senior vice president of sales for Victorinox Swiss Army. “In just the last year we’ve merged with our sister company, Wenger, and acquired our travel gear licensee, TRG Group, both of which have significantly expanded our product assortment and employee base in very beneficial ways. Andrew’s enthusiasm and positive approach to these opportunities, as well as his deep-rooted knowledge of this industry, will be key factors for success as we refocus our teams and approach.”
