Remember the good old days when vending machines were just for Kit Kats and Pepsi? Over the past few years, vending machines have become distributors of everything from headphones to puffy vests, and we guess this is the future. (Hopefully this means they’ll stop eating our dollars). It turns out the airport is the perfect location for clothing vending machines, apparently, and a Brazilian soccer team is the latest to take advantage of the movement.
According to CBS Sports, Gremio soccer team has stocked Salgado Filho International Airport in Porto Allegre, Brazil with a jersey vending machine.

The vending machine will take a trial residency for 90 days to see if fans can be tempted to buy the jerseys while killing time during layovers.
Selling jerseys via vending machine at the airport isn’t the craziest idea. Every airport we go to sells fan apparel for the home teams, and we’re certain plenty of travelers are picking up fan apparel souvenirs to remember their trips. Serious fans also travel to see their home teams take on opponents all the time, so there’s no shortage of potential customers.
The only difference between a vending machine purchase and a store purchase would be the sizing. It is unclear whether this vending machine only stocks one size or if there are multiple. And if the jersey doesn’t fit to the customer’s liking, is there a way to return it?
There are, of course, a few kinks to work out, but we think this business model could work.
