San Francisco Proposes Bottled Water Ban

The first city to ban plastic bags has become a pioneer again by considering the prohibition of distributing bottled water on city property. If approved, the legislation, introduced Dec. 17, would phase out the sale and distribution of plastic bottles containing 21 or fewer ounces of water on municipal property starting Oct. 1, 2014.

Amazon Sets Sights on Drone Delivery

Originally an online bookseller, Amazon has expanded its reach by selling a larger variety of products, including its own Kindle tablet, and introducing more aspects of the organization with Amazon Fresh (grocery delivery in Seattle and Los Angeles), Amazon Fashion (one-stop apparel shopping)and Amazon Web Services (Cloud computing that provides a variety of Web needs to organizations, including Netflix and the CIA).

Coby Electronics Acquired by Gordon Brothers Group

Coby Electronics’ future in the promotional products industry–and in the consumer-electronics business–is uncertain. The Boston-based Gordon Brothers Group acquired Coby’s assets in August, after Coby reportedly had two rounds of layoffs as it prepared to shut down by the end of the year.
