Fashion’s New Favorite Accessory: Custom Headphones

The unfortunate truth about working in an open-cubicle office: Sometimes it’s difficult to concentrate. Whether it is general office chatter, springtime sneezes, or the techno music someone listens to a little too loudly in order to stay awake while entering data, office life can be distracting from the reason you are there: to work. I find most of the time that a cup of coffee is all I need to concentrate. Noises fade when I’m not an uncaffeinated curmudgeon, but some days coffee is not enough. On those days, I put on my headphones and rock out to Adele as I write about Keytags or Towels. (Fact: Adele’s voice solves all problems. See: Skyfall.)

Recently, my problem-solving earbuds broke, which prompted me to look for new headphones on my favorite style site. I found more than I had hoped for. As smartphones, tablets and e-readers have grown in popularity, their accessories have become more important and fashion-forward. Many apparel brands are creating custom headphones to appeal to their tech-happy customers. Headphones are no longer for listening to your Discman on your commute. They are for showing your style and interests as you listen to your e-book on a train ride, jam to Spotify as you walk down the street, or watch a movie on a flight. For your purposes, these style-focused headphones are great for holding logos.

A search for “headphones” on Promo Marketing’s search reveals over 1,000 items fit for imprints. Many suppliers offer customizable headphones that can quite literally amplify your client’s brand.

To send you on your merry product-selling way, here are a few headphone promotion ideas:

  • Giveaway during a raffle for office workers
  • Prize for winning an in-office competition
  • Sold in college stores, imprinted with the school’s mascot or emblem
  • Gift-with-purchase for a computer, computer accessory or computer program
  • Gift to new employees in lieu of or with standard pencil cases and mugs
