I can now say it is officially the holiday season. Not because Thanksgiving and its many delicious leftovers have come and gone, but because retail stores have told me with their litter of glitter products. Sequins, rhinestones and powdered sparkles have coated malls, department stores and probably some of your orders. It’s OK though, because glitter is awesome. I’m not talking Vegas-showgirl glitter. I’m talking Beyonce glitter talons awesome. Mindy Kaling knows that I mean.
Bright gold glitter is not for everyone, but every promotion could use a bit of flash. See below:
Stress Reducers:
What calms someone down like reliving their princess-loving youth or their Disco-hopping twenties? Try the Silver Glitter Ball from ALPI International.
Wristbands:
You know you feel slightly more VIP when entering a party with a glimmering wristband. That’s where Liquid Glitter Wristbands from Fields Manufacturing come in.
Travel Mugs:
Is that an Oscar you’re holding? Oh, no, it’s just my FOXYWEAR Travel Mug from Vegas Golf/Foxyware. It glistens and keeps my coffee warm. Oh yeah, and that imprint, it’s in rhinestones.
Lamps:
Whether you are working with an air and space camp or on a school science promotion, try the Imprintable Glitter Rocket Lamps from Alight Promotional Products. They are like lava lamps, but with more twinkle.
Temporary Tattoos:
These were obvious and not just because they could be sold at pop-star concerts year-round, but because they could also be given out at Twilight viewings. 2 Roses with Glitter from California Tattoos.
Sunglasses:
You don’t have to be Lady Gaga to wear glitter sunglasses. You just have to accept that you may have glitter dandruff for the rest of your life. Probably most tween girls are more than OK with that risk. Try these: Glitter Heart Sunglasses from WOWLine.
One final note on shimmer: be careful when using glitter imprints on apparel. Glitter/shimmer imprints are difficult to wash because they can crack or shed so make sure to tell your client of these possible difficulties. If your client still wants some sparkle without taking the risk of a cracked imprint, suggest a metallic imprint, which has longer-lasting appeal but with the same impact.
