Why Won’t My QuickBooks Work on Windows 10?

Question: I have recently purchased a new computer with Microsoft 365 which includes Windows 10. Why won’t my QuickBooks work now?

Answer: Microsoft 365 is a new licensing version of the Microsoft Office with which we are all familiar.

There are two ways to purchase it:

  1. Web-based, which is accessed online
  2. Installed locally on your computer that can be accessed directly on your computer offline

QuickBooks Pro or Premier will not work with the web-based version of Microsoft 365. QuickBooks Desktop 2015, 2016 and 2018 should run with Microsoft 365 installed locally on your computer (not web-based)

If you have the web-based Microsoft 365, you should explore the version housed locally on your computer. If you are running a version of QuickBooks prior to 2015, you will want to upgrade to a current year.

Technology can be both a blessing and a curse!
