It’s hard to believe the 2018 Olympics are over. There’s been some crazy headlines over the past few weeks, from Team USA’s speed skating uniform frenzy to Soohorang, the event’s official mascot. We’ve also seen the best and the worst of the Olympics gear, but nothing could have prepared us for the price tag on Team USA’s Olympic Closing Ceremony uniforms.
According to Bustle, one of Team USA’s closing ceremony Ralph Lauren uniforms would set you back nearly $2,000, which happens to be more valuable than Chloe Kim’s gold medal. Here’s the breakdown: the $495 wool sweater, the $398 ceremony pant, the $995 ceremony suede boot, the $195 ceremony hat and the $135 ceremony mittens. We’d definitely call that look an investment piece.
(By the way, the $398 ceremony pant is completely sold out, so it looks like the price point isn’t stopping fans.)
Money aside, Team USA’s closing ceremony uniforms seemed to attract the approval of most. They were classic, yet fashion-forward, and they featured the perfect amount of USA images and designs.
