Crystal D, St. Paul, Minn., donated five awards to the Lifeworks Annual Celebration, held at The Depot in Minneapolis on April 26, 2018.
Lifeworks is an organization that supports individuals with disabilities in Minnesota. The Annual Celebration serves not only as a fundraising gala but also a celebration of people with disabilities. The event featured five winners: one Volunteer of the Year, one Staff Excellence winner, one Employer of the Year and two Personal Achievement winners.
Crystal D has been donating awards for the Lifeworks Annual Celebration since 2012. Judy Lysne, the previous CEO of Lifeworks, is a friend of Crystal D president Chuck Dahlgren. Dahlgren attended an Annual Celebration and saw the awards that were previously presented.
“Lifeworks was paying for these awards that were less than stellar, so I volunteered to donate the awards to Lifeworks,” Dahlgren said. “We’ve been supplying the awards ever since. I’m very proud to see our awards associated with such a great organization.”
This year, Crystal D sent five employees to experience the event.
“To be a part of what Lifeworks does in any way, even providing the awards for the event, inspires me,” said solutions specialist Mike Pooler. “Seeing how the lives of the participants and their parents change gives me great hope, since I am also a parent of a differently abled child.”
