Cynthia Nixon’s gubernatorial campaign in New York has proven that the former “Sex and the City” star is much more than just an actor, but she hasn’t completely separated her two lives.
Nixon teamed up with Instagram account @everyoutfitonsatc, which “documents every outfit on Sex and the City,” to make campaign merchandise celebrating her run for office as well as the TV show’s 20th anniversary.
Are you a Miranda voting for Cynthia? In honor of #SATC20, here's a line of Miranda merchandise designed by the team behind the "Every Outfit on Sex and the City" Instagram account… because, well, we should all be Mirandas who vote for Cynthia. The line includes T-shirts and tote bags that read “I’m a Miranda and I’m voting for Cynthia,” and hats and T-shirts that say “I’m a [crossed out Miranda] Governor.”
Tote bags run for $30, T-shirts are $35 and a hat will cost $38.
According to Harpers Bazaar, Nixon’s campaign is based around the promise to not take any corporate contributions toward her campaign, stating that she hasn’t been “bought or paid for.”
It’s a good idea for someone who has been famous for non-political reasons to engage with voters as fans.
Should Nixon win the race, it’d be interesting to see whether the @everyoutfitonsatc takes her wardrobe as governor into account.
