The Magnet Group, Washington, Mo., is pleased to announce the opening of the new Fran Ford Center, which will serve as the new home of Castelli Magnet. The factory moves from its previous location in Sparks, Nev., to a brand new, larger facility in Greenwood, S.C. Here, The Magnet Group, in conjunction with Castelli Magnet, will be able to house larger inventory levels and allow for faster shipping of journals from its plants overseas in Italy. The factory is named in memoriam and dedicated to the late Fran Ford, former president of Castelli Magnet.
“Words aren’t sufficient to describe what Fran meant to all of us,” said Bill Korowitz, CEO of The Magnet Group. “His wisdom, patience and friendship are things we will never forget. We all wish he was here to see the building named for him, to see what he helped build, to see what he helped create. Our hope is that we make him proud with the new Fran Ford Center.”
In addition to naming the new facility after Ford, The Magnet Group also is creating a special award in his honor, called the Fran Ford Award, given annually to a Magnet Group employee who embodies the outstanding characteristics that defined Fran Ford—being a great friend, mentor and willing volunteer.
The following is a quote that Fran mentioned during his 2015 PPAI Hall of Fame speech that embodies his thoughts about helping others:
“When you find yourself in a position to help someone, be happy and feel blessed, because God is answering that person’s prayer through you. Our purpose on Earth is to not get lost in the dark, but to be the light for others.”
