Go Ahead, Try to Put These Pokemon Hats on a Cat

Have any of you cat owners ever tried to put something on the cat? By that, I mean anything—a costume, mittens, a cone after surgery, an action figure to ride it. It doesn’t work, right? That’s because cats are the proudest, most independent creatures in the known universe. Everything they do is on their terms. Heck, a lot of things we do are on their terms, too.

Despite all of that, Kitan Club is making Pokemon hats for cats, as if that would ever work on 99 percent of cats.

These are either the most patient cats known to man, or this is a Photoshop job. It seems like a great way to get clawed into ribbons. But, wouldn’t you know it, people really want these for their cats.

Pet products certainly have a place in the promotional products industry. Items like leashes, food bowls and laser engraved tags are common. For dogs, who are more trusting of their human counterparts, there are plenty of sweatshirts and other adorable pet apparel.

If we somehow continue to forcibly evolve cats into the docile state required to wear a hat, items like this might become more commonplace.

That’s reliant on the belief that we can control cats, which is reaching Icarus levels of hubris.
