In celebration of the Koozie brand’s 40th birthday, BIC Graphic North America, Clearwater, Fla., has debuted a new logo and updated identity for the iconic brand. This year marks 40 years since the Koozie brand was born on April 16, 1979, when a construction worker found that piping insulation kept his sodas cool and his hands dry while on the work site.
Since that first iteration of the Koozie can cooler, the brand has grown to include a variety of additional products, including cooler bags, tumblers, outdoor gear and housewares.
“The Koozie brand is about more than just can coolers, and it’s time our logo reflected that,” said Elise Edgerton, senior channel development manager at BIC Graphic NA. “This fresh new look truly represents the Koozie vision—to make it more fun for people when they are together.”
The BIC Graphic NA creative team began working on a new logo concept in 2018 to create a brand mark that better represented the Koozie tone and personality of being chill, fun, genuine, novel and dependable. The new logo represents this refreshed identity with a modern typeface accented by the Splash emblem. The Splash acts as a whimsical exclamation point to emphasize the brand ethos of fun, and hints at the four season, because Koozie brand products are meant to be used for year-round adventures.
While the new Koozie identity represents a laid-back vibe to consumers, quality remains a top priority for the product development and design teams behind each item. Backed by 40 years of experience, the refreshed Koozie brand will continue to launch exclusive, innovative promos that perform exceptionally well for modern life.

The new Koozie logo is now visible on digital applications, and BIC Graphic NA plans to continue rolling out the new branding on marketing materials and products as inventory is replenished over the coming months.
