Goldstar, San Diego, Calif., announced yesterday the creation of Goldstar Global, a united effort between the company’s North American and European teams. As part of the launch, the company announced that Howard Cubberly, previously general manager of the North American division, would serve as the leader of Goldstar Global.
Cubberly told Promo Marketing that Goldstar has been in the process of bolstering its European and North American offerings over the past five years in its facilities in Ireland, Tennessee and Tijuana.
“We have worked to combine simplicity, our ease-of-doing-business model for both E.U. and [North America], as well as build out our sales, marketing and service teams to best align with our distributor needs,” Cubberly said. “It is now time to combine leadership and fully bring the brand together as one.”
As a result of the combination, Cubberly said that efforts both in the U.S. and abroad will be more consistent for all distributor partners.
“We will be able to add value to our distributors with end-user programs that need international distribution by offering a subset of products available for decoration and distribution from the nearest plant servicing Europe and North America,” Cubberly added.
Goldstar also established new leadership roles for positions in both Europe and North America.
Colin Loughran of Goldstar Europe’s headquarters in Dundalk, Ireland, will continue in his position as the general manager of the European site, and will play an important role in global product design and the company’s merchandising strategy. Additionally, RJ Hagel, previously marketing manager for Goldstar North America, will serve as the global marketing manager, managing teams for both locations.
Speaking on his new role, Cubberly said he’s excited to take on the new challenge that Goldstar’s growth provides.
“The fun is being part of building Goldstar into a worldwide brand that we are all proud of, to lead a dynamic team and culture that resonates with our customers and endures well into the future,” Cubberly said.
