National Pen Revenue Increases While Vistaprint Revenue Dips

Cimpress, Venlo, Netherlands, parent company of Vistaprint, released its first-quarter earnings report for the fiscal year, and saw a bit of an improvement on the National Pen side, but a dip in Vistaprint revenues.

According to Nasdaq, the National Pen brand made $70.2 million, up 6.3 percent over last year. Vistaprint reported $343.2 million in revenue, dropping from $345.3 million the prior year.

That’s a small drop that won’t break the bank or tank the company, but after former CEO Trynka Shineman’s departure in January following missed earnings goals, it’s still noteworthy to see that the business unit hasn’t yet righted the ship fully.

At that time, the company highlighted the importance of personalization and segmentation, as well as the plan to bolster its mobile experience and analytics. Those things don’t happen overnight, obviously, so once Vistaprint finds more stable footing and finishes the plans it put in motion earlier this year, that revenue figure might change.
