Miller Lite Released a Line of Branded Candles That Smell Like Bars (and They Sold Out Fast)

Miller Lite did a pretty good job of replicating the game day experience during the pandemic, thanks to a beer can that doubled as a functioning antenna. But, live sports aren’t the only thing a lot of us miss right now. Little things we took for granted, like happy hour at the musty bar on the corner, feel like distant memories these days.

Sure, you can enjoy your favorite drinks from home, and you can watch sports on TV. But does your home entertainment area smell like your favorite sports bar?

Thanks to three scented candles, you can make your home smell like a “Game Day Bar” (Salted Peanut, Jalapeño, Crackled Leather), “Dive Bar” (Must, Tobacco, Pine, Yeast) or “Beer Garden” (Green Moss, Warm Pretzel, Cracked Wood, Sunburn).

Buyers must have really been antsy to make their homes feel more like their locals, because all three candle scents are sold out already. Miller Lite donated proceeds from the candles to the hospitality industry via the U.S. Bartenders’ Guild Foundation.

“The Bar Smells burn for 50 hours. Our stock did not last that long,” the Miller Lite web store said. “Bar Smells are all sold out. Thank you to all that supported the hospitality industry. Hope to see everyone at the bar soon for Miller Time.”

Things are starting to open back up little by little, depending on where you’re located. But there’s still a market for promotional items that make home feel a little bit more like a day out. Most sports are still largely played behind closed doors, so sports teams are still using tailgate kits and branded items that you’d receive at the ticket gate in other ways.

And while we’re not able to crowd bars like we did before, something simple like a candle that makes your house feel a little more festive is a creative way to fill a need at a very specific time in history. All you need to do to fully replicate the experience is spill a bunch of Miller Lite all over your floors.
