The NFL Draft is tonight, and some of us will be watching through our fingers, terrified of the Philadelphia Eagles’ decision during a crucial rebuilding period.
But this isn’t an article about the drafting history of Howie Roseman or the Eagles. It’s about how, after last year’s NFL draft took place virtually (with the league sending 32 hats and jerseys to first-round draft picks to be sure they had the right one for their new team), the 2021 draft is happening live and in-person.
Even better? As a welcome back, attendees of the draft will get a gift bag to sweeten the whole deal.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter, pretty much the most reliable guy when it comes to all things NFL, posted a picture of the NFL Draft gift bag for tonight’s draft, giving us a pretty good look at what’s inside. Thanks to WKYC, actually. Schefter only posted the gift bag on his story, where it disappeared after 24 hours.
Since the draft is taking place in Cleveland, a lot of the gifts are from local companies (which, as we’ve seen, is a nice touch). Here’s what’s in the bag, based on Schefter’s picture:
- Gervasi Vineyard’s Integrity chardonnay (with limited edition Pro Football Hall of Fame label)
- Château Hough Vineyards Buttercup dry white wine
- Water bottle branded with the Destination Cleveland logo (so players will always remember where they were that night that everything changed for them)
- Almonds from Backattack Snacks
- Candle from The Cleveland Candle Co.
- Hazy IPA from Great Lakes Brewing (and one other canned beer we can’t quite make out)
- 48% Coconut Mylk Chocolate Bar (Single Origin, Ghana) from The Cleveland Chocolate Co.
- Gourmet Popcorn from Campbell’s Sweets Factory
What better way to celebrate such a big occasion than some delicious snacks and maybe a beer? (Sports media members could probably use one after the frenzy of rumors and reports leading up to the draft.) And it’s nice to see in-person events returning with welcome kits like these.
Whether or not the players will hold onto their polarizing draft hats from this year will remain to be seen. But this gift bag seems like it’ll be a hit with the media and other draft attendees making the trip to Cleveland.
