Just when we thought Miller Lite might start resting on its promo laurels and take the summer off, they come back with an extremely dad-ready promotion just in time for Father’s Day.
Miller Lite partnered with New Balance for the first ever “beer shoe,” which is just a regular can cooler made from shoe material. Specifically, it’s modeled after the official shoe of lawn-mowing dads everywhere, the New Balance 624.
The only thing missing are the grass stains.
“As the Original Light Beer, we are proud to celebrate all things beer and all things dad, and the Shoezie does just that,” Sofia Colucci, vice president of marketing for the Miller family of Brands, said in a press release. “When we dreamed up the Shoezie, there was only one brand bring it to life, and that was the maker of the classic ‘Dad shoe,’ New Balance. Together, we want to thank all dads out there for keeping the grass cut, grilling those perfect meats, agreeing to the family dog, and of course raising a Miller Lite, one can at a time.”
The can cooler, which is made with the same materials as the real New Balance 624, includes a rubber sole and leather upper. It’ll go on sale on Father’s Day, June 20, starting at 9 a.m. Central Time.
“The Shoezie brings together two brands that confidently celebrate their connection with dads,” New Balance’s vice president of global marketing Jeff McAdams said. “New Balance and Miller Lite are excited to come together this Father’s Day to tip our hats to dads everywhere, and give them the opportunity to enjoy the day in comfort and style.”
It’s going to be a tough product to get your hands on, since there’s only a limited quantity and Miller Lite is basically raffling them off. But, in true dad fashion, you’re going to want to buy two of them so you have a backup when this one wears out.
Now close the front door. We’re not air conditioning the outside.
