Ashley Cooper, associate brand manager for WD-40, said that “fans have been asking where they can get their hands on WD-40 brand gear for years.”
When we hear that, we picture Hank Hill using a can of WD-40 to loosen the cap of a larger can of WD-40.
That’s a joke, but WD-40 is pretty much at Band-Aid and Kleenex level of product synonymity. So, yeah, people really do want WD-40-branded gear. And, as Cooper said, the brand listened to the people and opened a new online shop.
The branded merchandise store, which is set up by Custom Ink, includes T-shirts, hats, sweatshirts, drinkware and more, most in WD-40’s familiar blue and yellow branding.

You can just see Hank Hill taking a sip of coffee out of an “I love the smell of WD-40 in the morning” mug.
It’s funny how brands like WD-40 become so ubiquitous that we forget they even have competitors or need to advertise. But this goes to show that any company, regardless of size and market share, still has room to improve its promotional marketing game.
