The 2021 Emmy Award Gift Bag Was Filled With Luxury Takes on Familiar Promo Items (and a Personal HP Printer)

After spending a little more time inside during 2020 and 2021, people have some strong opinions on TV shows. That made last night’s Emmy Awards even more interesting, as social media lit up like it was the Super Bowl.

One thing that’s beyond argument is that awards shows like these always go all-out for the gift suites for nominees. This year’s event was no exception, with merchandising experts at Awesome Merchandising, using previous award shows as data, estimated would be worth $104,825.98.

Now, there are always “experiences” included in these gifts that jack up the price, like luxury vacations and trips. But this year’s Emmy gift bag included a lot of products that should look awfully familiar to anyone in the promo industry.

Self-care was a major part of the gift set. In addition to those high-end trips and vacations, E! reported that the gift set included a Thera Cane Trigger Point massager and Nu Skin facial massager. This is a handy tool for 2021, when many places still require masks, and all major public transportation networks in the country mandate that travelers mask up.

On that note, the gift bag includes the Never Go Alone Edition 01 Go Mask, which reportedly has antibacterial properties on its own, something that mask developers have been working on since the onset of the pandemic.

Also included were sunglasses made from recycled single-use water bottles, some luxury chocolates, soy candles and various other personal care products—all up-scale, celebrity-approved takes on familiar promo favorites.

On the print side, there’s even a HP Sprocket Studio printer, for every Emmy attendee to show off their pictures and selfies from the red carpet and after party without having to zoom in on a smartphone screen.

While there’s no specific theme of the post-2020 world, the chosen products indicate what buyers are looking for in this current climate. They’re looking for items that people can use at home or on (safe) getaways, and focusing on personal care and wellness. Throwing in a fun print-related product is a bonus!
