Where Are My Sales Orders in QuickBooks?

Ask the Accountant…

Question: I am switching to QBO from QB Premier, but I can’t find where to create sales orders. Where are they?

Answer: QBO does not have a sales order function. Sales orders, purchase orders and estimates are what are known as “non-posting” transactions. That means that they do not post into your accounting system, but they can be very helpful to track.

In QBO, use estimates in the place of sales orders. Like sales orders, estimates in QBO can be tracked and can be converted to invoices.
