Pennsylvania Congressman Visits Leed’s

Leed’s, a member of Polyconcept North America (PCNA), recently welcomed Congressman Jason Altmire to its New Kensington facilities. While on site, Altmire toured the offices and production floor of the company—visiting with its 900 local employees.

In addition to seeing the decoration of product, Altmire spent time discussing issues critical to the future success of the industry with Leed’s executives including David Nicholson, president; Sharon Willochell, chief operating officer; and Larry Whitney, trade compliance manager. A few of the many topics discussed included:

  • CPSIA and its unique challenges to the industry related to when a “general consumer product” might become a “children’s product.”
  • Trade issues with China that could impact the promotional products industry.
  • Concerns around the new health care legislation which could require additional contributions from employees to continue to offer comprehensive coverage plans.

“The promotional products industry employs nearly a half million Americans, that is why we are so pleased with Congressman Altmire’s interest in what we do,” Nicholson said. “Our hope is that he takes the learning he uncovered in his visit with Leed’s to help support the industry in Washington.”

Leed’s is a leading promotional products supplier and founding member of the Quality Certification Alliance (QCA), which promotes quality, safety, and integrity among suppliers in the industry. For more information, visit www.leedsworld.com.
