For some people, today is a very special day. Thanks to changing legislation across the U.S. and Canada, those people can celebrate a little more openly.
April 20, known as “420,” is pretty much the Super Bowl of cannabis culture. With the legal marijuana industry growing (pun intended) in size as a vertical market—thanks to dispensaries opening up and businesses using cannabis-related products as promo items—we thought it would be a good idea to run down some 420-friendly promo items this year.
We’re talking about packaging, specific products that people use to store or use cannabis, and just regular promotional products that newly formed cannabis brands are using to get their names out there.
Review ‘em if you got ‘em, right?
1. Seth Rogen’s House Plant Brand Box Set

If you’ve already purchased House Plant’s main product, you might feel inclined to sit back and listen to some tunes. The new brand from actor and comedian Seth Rogen released a limited edition vinyl box set that comes with music for the particular mood your strain might put you in, and also comes with a branded mat for your turntable. Heck, they even have a branded turntable if you don’t have one already.

2. ‘Leafs by Snoop’ Packaging
When you think of celebrities starting a weed brand, Snoop Dogg is probably one of the first that comes to mind. His brand’s packaging is pretty elegant, if we may say so. It has a modern, minimalist design with a sticker indicating the strain, and a good logo.
3. The Superweaks ‘Medtainer’
Philly rock band The Superweaks released a line of containers and grinders with their album artwork on it. It’s not quite the direct music pairing that Seth Rogen made, but it’s pretty close!
4. Stock King Size Rolling Paper + Tips from Tekweld
This is an ideal last-minute buy or giveaway item at a dispensary. It includes 33 unbleached hemp rolling papers and tips, and features a full-color imprint area on the top, so customers will remember where they got their stuff.
5. Tray from Webb Company
Once they actually buy the flower product and the rolling paper, they’ll need something to lay it all out on. That’s where this tray comes in handy. It also has a large imprint area for maximum branding ability.
6. Tyson Ranch ‘Take It Anywhere’ Bundle
Mike Tyson’s cannabis company still has some of that athletic and boxing gym-ready feel. This kit includes a gym bag, grinder, hat, “budtender mask” for dispensary workers, rolling tray, lighter and rolling papers.
7. Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Packaging
After Snoop, you probably thought of Jimmy Buffett as the premier ganja guy, right? You won’t find more relaxed vibes from the king of the Parrotheads himself, and the packaging for his THC vaporizer packs some serious island aesthetic.
8. Blue and Gold Tin + Sticker from Willie’s Reserve
OK, maybe Willie Nelson is just above Buffett. But, instead of a chilled-out tropical feel, he has that more Western thing going on for his products, like this tin for, really, anything you want.
9. Bottle Opener with Alligator Clip from EMT
This would make for a fun promo or gift shop item for a brewery in a state with legal recreational cannabis. There’s plenty of room for a logo on the bottle opener, and features a key ring for easy access.
10. Glass Jar with Child-Resistant Lid from High Caliber
With legalization comes regulation, and that includes things like necessitating child-safe packaging. This jar has an air-tight lid for storing herbs, cannabis or tobacco, and has space for a pad imprint.
