A24 Added a Permanent Vintage Movie Merch Store to Its Site

A24 is proving once again that one man’s outdated promotional movie merchandise is another man’s promotional movie treasure.

After the trendy movie distribution company held a successful series of auctions, selling a huge swath of movie promos from multiple decades, A24 is again selling a collection of vintage movie gear.

Collider reported that a good chunk of the items came from Bijan Shahvali, founder of Intramural, who sourced items from his personal stock and through friends “within his vintage network.”

“I was thrilled when A24 reached out, because I think they really embody all the things I love about film,” he said, according to Nylon. “My goal for this curation was to celebrate all the different aspects of the film experience that we are all nostalgic for—the blockbusters, the arthouse, theatre, the emergence of cable television, and everything in between—while still feeling very much like A24.”

Products range from the severely outdated, like an HBO ashtray for $50 or a LaserDisc T-shirt, to more contemporary choices like an “8 Mile” cap.

Considering everything is already sold out on A24’s new Vintage e-commerce vertical, it’s safe to say that they’ll keep this up. A24’s own branded merchandise game was over-the-top, and now it just created even more of a reason for people to visit the site often and maybe buy something with an A24 logo as a consolation prize if they miss out on a “Basketball Diaries” jersey.
