Alternate Site Provided as Leed’s Responds to Denial of Service Attack

New Kensington, Pennsylvania-based Leed’s, a member of Polyconcept North America, the second largest supplier of hard goods within the promotional products industry, announced it has redirected its primary Web site address to www.leedsworld-backup.com. This precaution was undertaken as a result of a denial of service attack on Leed’s Web site. The attack consists of drone computers requesting Leed’s Web site at the rate of thousands of times per second, causing Web servers to overload. In order to continue to serve its customers, Leed’s has provided the alternate Web site until the issue is resolved.

“These types of Web site attacks are difficult to defend against,” reported Tom Vogl, Leed’s vice president of information services. “We are doing everything we can to keep our site operational and available for customer use.”

Until the attack subsides, the Leed’s Web site can be accessed at the www.leedsworld-backup.com address. Although they may be found to be running more slowly than normal, other Leed’s Web sites–including my.leedsworld.com, www.somuchmore09.com and www.leedsworld.ca–are fully operational.
