A Baltimore apparel company is giving everyone a little bit of fun and positivity, as well as a reusable bottle, through a new line of apparel. Mess in a Bottle was started by Kalilah Wright in 2016, shortly after the Freddie Gray riots in Baltimore. Wright, who used to work at Under Armour, wanted to use apparel as a way to bring a positive message to people.
“I really wanted to create a way for people to have messages and share a form of communication through such a difficult time,” Wright told CBS Baltimore.
Over the past couple of weeks, as protests once again filled the streets of major cities across the U.S., Wright found herself again looking for a way to spread some positivity.
And what better way than spreading hopeful messages through apparel, doubled with the practicality of a reusable bottle. You can sport your T-shirt and stay hydrated, and know you’re limiting waste by cutting down on single-use water bottles.

Capitalizing on the ethos of “turn your mess into a message,” the company’s shirts are decorated in things like “As strong as the woman next to me” and strongly worded critiques of racism in America.
The company is also selling face masks, and using the proceeds to donate masks to people in need in Baltimore.
The project obviously was well received, as currently the site says that all bottles are sold out. So, if you want your message to come as a message in a bottle, you might just have to wait a little bit.
